Groups will first watch our 17 minute introductory video giving a short history of the nutcrackers and the museum. After that they will tour the museum which shows over 7,000 nutcrackers from over 50 countries---the oldest one dating back to Roman times. They will find nutcrackers of wood, metal, porcelain, and ivory, and they will be amazed at the creativity man has used throughout the centuries to open the hard shells.

All are familiar with the wooden toy soldier nutcrackers displayed at Christmas time, but they are in for a treat when they see a figural in the shape of a frog, owl, kangaroo, dragon, elephant, or a man in the moon! Young ones will enjoy the case of Disney characters and older guests will find many historical figures.

In addition to nutcrackers, there is a collection of nutting stones, some of which date back 4,000 to 8,000 years. There are also collections of betel cutters, nut bowls, nutpicks, fruit knives, and walnut shells carved with faces and foliage that are more than a hundred and fifty years old.
